Consequences With the Law

In 1985, Ecstasy was made illegal in America because the sole reason of its illicitly in the late 1980s. During these times, in the city of Orlando, Florida, any person under the age of eighteen had to obey a curfew of midnight and any past that time faced arrest by the local police force. In addition to this, various clubs started to close around 2 A.M. while undercover agents began to shut down the shady dealers of MDMA. Many communities have banded together to stop the usage of Ecstasy and among them is the group known as RAVE (Reducing Americans Vulnerability to Ecstasy).

Today in society, you may get arrested for possession of Ecstasy or selling it. Also using it is another felony that is susceptible to jail time up to 5-10 years. The duration of jail time is based on how much of Ecstasy was used or is in possession. Teens face expulsion from school and possible minor jail time as well. Many different countries around the world are cracking down on the users and sellers of Ecstasy. In Canada, the health branch of their government put warnings in their papers and magazines. After a short period, they began to stop the people who were using the new "club induced" drug.
